NC Safety Passport
Who is it for ?
The NC Safety Passport is designed for every worker planning to operate on a site in New Caledonia.
Employees
Self-employed
Employers
It applies to anyone wishing to work on one of the three metallurgical sites in New Caledonia, or on any other site or worksite, industrial or otherwise, whose owner requires every contractor to hold the NC Safety Passport. In some cases, the Passport is the first step before further site-specific inductions, some of which are also available on the NC Safety Passport platform.
The NC Safety Passport is also intended for any individual or employer who wants to provide a safety framework for their staff so that workers gain a better understanding of and approach to occupational safety.
Since 1 January 2018, the NC Safety Passport has been mandatory and required when applying for or renewing an access badge to the following sites:
- Koniambo Nickel SAS (KNS)
- Société Le Nickel (SLN) — all sites, plant & mines
- Prony Resources Nouvelle Calédonie (PRNC)

Questions ?
Registration
Registration steps
Follow the steps below to create your employer/self-employed account, register your staff, purchase credits, and track passports.
1 Employer / self-employed registration I register my company, or I register as a self-employed worker.
Registration is completed online via
"Employer Portal / No account yet?".
Mandatory fields are marked with a star (*).
The Contact details correspond to the person who will manage the employer account and receive all communications related to the NC Safety Passport.
2 Access credentials received I receive a registration confirmation along with my access credentials (username & password).
The credentials are sent to the email address provided during registration.
3 Commitment I commit to abiding by the NC Safety Passport charter.
The NC Safety Passport is a "generic" training system aimed at improving workplace health and safety for everyone.
It is delivered as e-learning, allowing each person to progress at their own pace.
For the NC Safety Passport to be effective and drive real progress, every participant's commitment to the rules is essential.
4 Employee registration I register my employees by filling in the required fields and confirming each entry.
The employer can register every relevant person (including themselves). Once all the information is complete (photos, passport type, complementary modules), each registration is confirmed via the "Confirm" button for each person.
Access credentials are generated automatically — they only become usable when the credit balance is sufficient.
5 Choosing the number of tickets I enter the number of tickets I need.
Each ticket costs 2,500 XPF excl. tax / unit.
The price covers access to the NC Safety Passport e-learning programme as well as the KNS, SLN & PRNC
complementary modules.
6 Payment I pay the corresponding amount.
- Card payment (with 3D Secure validation).
- Bank transfer: validated once the funds are received (any transfer fees are payable by the company).
Please note: bank transfers take 48 to 72 hours to clear.
7 Sharing access credentials I share the credentials with the relevant individuals and ensure they personally complete the NC Safety Passport.
Credentials only work when there are enough credits available. A credit is deducted on the first login and counted as used, even if the passport is not subsequently completed.
To follow the e-learning programme as an employer, you must log out of the Employer Portal and log back in to the Training Portal using the username and password generated for the employee.
8 Tracking passports I track ongoing and upcoming NC Safety Passports.
- Track available credits (balance).
- Purchase additional credits (new registrations / renewals).
- View and print expiry dates per employee.
- Add an employee.
- Remove an employee (departure / change of status, etc.).
- Switch the passport type (Industry / Construction) if not yet started.
- Assign complementary modules (KNS, SLN, PRNC).

Additional
Additional information
I log in using the credentials I have been given
- Credentials are issued only by the employer or by the person who registered the company.
I can start my training once I have confirmed I am the person at the screen.
- Training begins after the initial commitment to the charter. After the first login, the registered person has 3 months to complete and pass the NC Safety Passport. They can return to it as many times as they wish.
PLEASE NOTE:
The e-learning programme contains videos hosted on YouTube — make sure access to YouTube is not blocked on the device you use. Also check that your sound card is working, and bring headphones if you are sharing the room with other people.
I can pause my training.
Two scenarios are possible:
- If the user stops in the middle of a module without logging out and resumes within an hour, training picks up where they left off
- If the user stops mid-module by logging out, or after more than an hour, they will need to restart the relevant module from the beginning
- In every case, completed modules remain validated for up to 3 months after the first login, even if the user logs out
I follow the complementary modules my employer has assigned to me.
- Safety Passport is validated, if my employer has assigned me one or more complementary modules, I can access them in any order and follow the same training format as before, a video followed by a multiple-choice quiz where I must achieve 80% correct answers.
- Once a module is validated, I can move on to the next.
