Our history
History & Context
Driven by performance and competitiveness, the AMD cluster (Association Maintenance Durable) – which brings together maintenance service providers – launched the “NC Safety Passport” project in 2014, in partnership with the three metallurgical industries of New Caledonia.
This shared system for inductions and safety training at industrial site entry points also standardises safety messaging, promotes a unified approach to encouraging good practice and limiting bad habits, supports a generic operating framework, and ultimately aims to improve the safety behaviour of workers in New Caledonia.
Mandatory across the three metallurgical industrial sites since 1 January 2018, the NC Safety Passport has gradually been extended to mining operations and to the building & public works sector. It is supported by the Government of New Caledonia, the three metallurgical industries, CAFAT, and of course AMD – a cluster backed by Province Sud and Province Nord.
The Passport was developed collaboratively and is implemented by the CAPSE NC / SKAZY consortium.

Améliorer la santé et la sécurité au travail par la sensibilisation et l’uniformisation des pratiques.
Improve health
Raise awareness among every worker about the right reflexes to protect their health on industrial sites every day.
Improve safety
Build a shared safety culture and prevent risks by applying a common operating framework.
OUR VISION
The purpose of the NC Safety Passport, beyond being a mandatory requirement for entry onto New Caledonia’s industrial sites, is to improve workplace health and safety through awareness, fostering respect for oneself and others.
It aims to enhance everyone’s safety behaviour and serves as a collaborative tool supporting a shared safety culture. The goal is to develop the right reflexes to prevent and protect against risks, while also strengthening the economic performance and regulatory compliance of businesses.
